The Wonderfund was able to make a meaningful impact on 6-year old Derek’s life by sending him to his school’s summer camp. Derek is a smart, active, and resilient young boy who is now living with his aunt. Through tough times, Derek has turned to his school—which has been a constant in his life. Being able to spend the summer at his school’s camp allowed Derek to have the consistency he needs and be part of a community he loves and trusts. Derek says his favorite part of camp was taking field trips with his friends. For Derek, summer camp really mattered and we are glad the Wonderfund was able to make it happen.
